"They put us into debt." Dostupno.UA activists' experience receiving a state grant
A well-known organization helping people with disabilities received funding from assets that were absent in the country's budget
As it turned out, even having won the tender for state financing for the project and received funds from the state treasury to the account, you shouldn't count on this money. Using the example of a public organization Dostupno.UA, we explain how the new system of financing public organizations works.
Dostupno.UA is a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities, fights to make cities and public spaces more comfortable for people with limited mobility. Not so long ago, the organization held an Inclusion Forum dedicated to the inclusiveness of the Ukrainian urban area. The organization won a competition of the State Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities with the "Task with a star" project. According to the competition terms, the Fund was supposed to finance the project.
