Why is Ukraine lower than Bangladesh in the ranking of democracies? And what it affects

In early February, the British research center Economist Intelligence Unit published a new world ranking of countries by the level of democracy in 2020. At first glance, the result is far from roseate for Ukraine—79th place. Right in front of us is Bangladesh, North Macedonia, the Republic of El Salvador, and the South American state of Guyana.

Is it worth worrying about such a result, when Ukraine allegedly experienced the flourishing of democracy, and what criteria does the rating position depend on? Read in the Rubryka article.
