Ukraine and US discuss Ukraine's security aid needs

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov discussed Ukraine's needs for security assistance over the phone.
The press service of the Pentagon reports this.
As noted, the defense chiefs also discussed further steps in defense of Ukraine.
"Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Ukrainian Minister of Defence Oleksii Reznikov to discuss Ukraine's immediate and long-term security assistance needs.
Minister Reznikov provided an update on the dynamics on the battlefield in Ukraine," the Pentagon said.
The ministers also discussed planning the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
Austin and Reznikov have pledged to maintain close contacts, the US Defense Department emphasizes.
As reported by Rubryka, the russian invaders daily carry out about 700-800 attacks on the Ukrainian forces' positions, using 40,000 to 60,000 rounds of ammunition.
"Along the entire front line, the enemy continues to advance. At the same time, it carries out about 700-800 attacks on our positions every day, using from 40 to 60 thousand munitions.
The primary efforts focus on pushing out our troops from the Donetsk region. The tensest situation is now in the direction of Avdiivka–Pisky–Maryinka," said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhny.
