In Chernihiv, the All-Ukrainian RECOVERY network opened a rehabilitation center, which became the network's 16th rehabilitation center.
RECOVERY reports this.
"We are inaugurating the 16th RECOVERY center; however, this is a nominal milestone as some locations have seen a second phase of openings, bringing the total number of inaugurations to 20. These centers are highly effective, facilitating the recovery of over 22,000 servicemen and women. Once fully operational, the network aims to accommodate 26,000 military personnel annually," Pinchuk noted.

As reported, more than 1,000 military personnel will be able to receive free rehabilitation services at the center in Chernihiv every year. The center is equipped according to world standards of technological feasibility and inclusiveness.

The list of innovative simulators and devices in the Chernihiv RECOVERY center covers the entire spectrum of functional disorders, including those resulting from gunshot wounds and mine-explosive injuries. Physical rehabilitation rooms are equipped with virtual reality equipment that provides feedback to the patient.

The treatment and rehabilitation area includes large and small halls for physical rehabilitation and mechanotherapy, two halls for individual classes, physiotherapy, laser therapy, assistive technologies, psychological assistance, occupational therapy, a massage room, and offices for a speech and language therapist and a physical therapist. There are also offices for the head of the department, a senior nurse, a spacious guest area, and office space.

The ward department has 12 wards with 45 beds. All wards have electric functional beds and furniture so patients can stay conveniently and comfortably. There is also a resident's office, a nurse's post, a manipulation room, a switching room, and inclusive bathrooms.
Hanna Anisovets, head of the RECOVERY rehabilitation center in Chernihiv, said:
"We do not engage in hypercare because people are independent – and should be. Our patients, even if they arrive in wheelchairs, can fully serve themselves. All doors, entrances, and exits are accessible; modern elevators exist. The Chernihiv center has no physical barriers – and our team works to ensure that there are no psychological ones either."
At the Chernihiv RECOVERY center, a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team will rehabilitate military personnel after injuries. The team consists of physical rehabilitation medicine doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists, speech and language therapists, and a psychologist. Thanks to high-tech equipment and qualifications, they provide high-quality, affordable, and evidence-based rehabilitation care.

The RECOVERY project is an example of a successful partnership between the private sector and the state when philanthropists build innovative rehabilitation centers based on state medical institutions. This is the 16th center of the RECOVERY network, which Victor and Olena Pinchuk founded to assist the Security and Defense Forces.
For reference:
In addition to Chernihiv, RECOVERY innovative centers provide free services in Vinnytsia, Dnipro region (three facilities), Kyiv (two facilities), Lutsk, Lviv, Odesa (two facilities), Poltava, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi. In total, 22,000 patients have already received rehabilitation assistance in the centers of the national network.
