Ukrainian intelligence mission results in destruction of Russian speedboat in Crimea
In temporarily occupied Crimea, a high-speed boat belonging to the Russian invaders was destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate's Unit 13 using their Magura V5 attack marine drone.
Ukraine's intelligence reports this.
The intelligence agency emphasized that the successful mission in Vuzka Bay on Crimea's territory was made possible with the assistance of the United24 platform.
"As the occupiers were afraid of Ukrainian attacks, they had hidden the large ships of the Black Sea Fleet away from the peninsula. However, combat work is still ongoing against the Russians' high-speed, maneuverable military vessels, which are illegally present in the territorial waters of Crimea," Ukraine's intelligence noted.
For reference:
Ukrainian defenders have already carried out dozens of operations on the peninsula and in the Black Sea, destroying Russian bases, warehouses, and ships.
In October 2022, Ukrainian Security Service naval drones attacked ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol Bay, damaging the frigate "Admiral Makarov" among others.
Overall, in 2023, Ukrainian drones damaged:
- the missile cruiser "Samum,"
- the missile cruiser "Pavel Derzhavin,"
- the tanker SIG,
- the landing ship "Olenegorsky Gornyak,"
- damaged the tugboat "Nikolay Mur,"
- the advanced reconnaissance-hydrographic ship "Vladimir Kozitsky."
On December 26, 2023, Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the large landing ship "Novocherkassk" of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the area of Feodosia.
Also, Ukrainian intelligence destroyed the missile boat "Ivanovets" of the Russian Black Sea Fleet overnight on February 1. Its approximate value is $60-70 million. The Russian ship suffered damages that were incompatible with further movement. Thus, the "Ivanovets" listed aft and sank.
On February 14, Ukrainian drones struck a large Russian landing ship "Caesar Kunikov." The Ukrainian Navy later stated that out of the 13 Russian Black Sea Fleet ships, only five remained operational after the destruction of the "Caesar Kunikov."
According to Pletenchuk, head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defense Forces, the situation in the Black Sea remains stable, the Russian command is afraid to utilize its ships, so it practically does not use Kalibr missiles for strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
As Rubryka previously wrote, the occupiers took almost all significant and combat-ready ships from the base of the Black Sea Fleet located in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol to the Russian Novorossiysk.
In addition, according to Ukrainian intelligence, as reported by President Zelensky, the Russian occupying forces are moving their ships, in particular those carrying the Kalibr cruise missiles, into the Caspian Sea.
