Ukraine's PM and Estonian president meet to discuss European integration and joint defense industries

While on a working visit to Estonia, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with Estonian President Alar Karis.

This is reported on the Government portal.

The head of the Ukrainian government thanked Alar Karis for his landmark visit to Ukraine immediately after the liberation of the Kyiv region from the Russian invaders two years ago.

"Ukraine needs more weapons to expel Russia from all our lands. We appreciate Estonia's involvement in military support initiatives. We are increasing the production of our own weapons and are interested in creating joint defense enterprises," Denys Shmyhal said.

The parties also discussed the European integration and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine. The Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine should be a member of the EU and NATO, and the country relies on the support of Estonia.

Denys Shmyhal delivered the sincerest regards from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Alar Karis and expressed gratitude for Estonia's continued support.

It should be noted that on March 26, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Estonian Parliament, Marko Mihkelson, arrived in Kyiv for a visit.

Also, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, and the President of the Riigikogu [parliament – ed.] of Estonia, Lauri Hussar, discussed defense assistance and bringing Russia to justice for the crimes committed against Ukraine.

As Rubryka reported, Ukraine and Estonia have started negotiations to conclude a bilateral security agreement.

Also, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the delegation of the Riigikogu of Estonia led by Speaker Lauri Hussar.
