According to initial reports from the Ukrainian Air Force, several Tu-95MS bombers took off from the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk Oblast, Russia.

Later, the Russians launched rockets, and an air raid warning was declared across Ukraine. The danger lasted for over two hours.
