Ukraine's intelligence explains whether avoiding war with Russia was possible

Why did the civilized world allow the formation of such a dictatorship in the 21st century, which attacks various states? Russia's aggression against Ukraine did not begin in February 2022 or even in 2014, but much earlier.

Andrii Yusov, a Ministry of Defense's Main Directorate of Intelligence representative, stated this on the air of the BASE #2 program on Bayraktar Radio.

According to the intelligence officer, the issue of the Russian war in Ukraine was resolved a long time ago: "as soon as our country challenged the empire and declared that it wanted to be independent."

"This did not happen in 1991, but much earlier. The issue of the war was actually resolved. It has been going on for a long time.

Now, I really hope that this is the final resolution, and after it, we will move freely without Russian weights on our feet," Yusov stressed.

A representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence believes that when talking about a full-scale war, which began on February 24, 2022, the question of its beginning should be asked not only Ukraine but also "the whole world, the security architecture."

"How did it happen that in the 21st century, such a regime was formed that attacks various states, annexes parts of the territories, does not recognize sovereignty — we are not talking only about Ukraine — destroys its own citizens, introduces a dictatorship," asked the intelligence officer.

Yusov called it an existential conflict in which there is nothing new. After all, it was not the case that until February 24, there was a so-called peaceful Russian neighbor in Ukraine who just wanted to "make friends" and "trade," and then suddenly something went wrong.

"No. These are murderers. This is a horde; these are enemies who have been like that for dozens and dozens of years. How could this war be avoided? Only by giving up the right to exist," he summarized.

We will remind you that The Economist magazine wrote the other day that Putin got a chance to win the war for the first time. Analysts pointed out that the West did little to defeat the Russian dictator. However, it is not too late for it to show its full determination to help Ukraine by providing more weapons to the Ukrainian army, introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation and its partners, etc.

Currently, neither side can dislodge the other from the cities they control. Ukraine's counteroffensive has slowed, and Russia is losing more than 900 people a day in the fighting for Avdiiivka in the Donetsk region.

Russia's advantage on the battlefield is partly due to the country's increased foreign support. The Kremlin receives:

  • attack drones from Iran,
  • ammunition from North Korea,
  • Turkey and Kazakhstan have become channels for the supply of goods that feed the Russian military machine.

We will remind that in recent months, the Russian army has been losing about a thousand of its soldiers almost every day.

For example, on December 1, the Ukrainian army eliminated almost 1,100 invaders, so the total losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in manpower have already amounted to more than 331 thousand soldiers.
