BGV Charity Fund, Hanseatic Help, and #WeAreAllUkrainians to buy Christmas gifts for vulnerable Ukrainian children

Non-profit organizations Hanseatic Help and #WeAreAllUkrainians have provided €125,000 in targeted assistance to the BGV Charity Fund to purchase Christmas gifts for vulnerable children in need.

The gift sets will include sweets, toys, sketchbooks, markers or pens, and backpacks. The children who will receive these gifts fall into the following categories: those who have lost a parent (one or both) due to military aggression, children living in family-type homes, those from economically disadvantaged families, and internally displaced persons.

Unfortunately, due to the war in Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of children are currently facing challenging life circumstances, both in front-line territories and beyond. Most internally displaced families are struggling with various difficulties, including finding comfortable housing, stable employment, and integrating into social life in new communities. Financial hardship is particularly pronounced. The war has increased the number of vulnerable individuals in the population, with many losing their homes and possessions.

Currently, over 7 million Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes have been internally displaced. Children constitute 25% of this population. Many of them lack quality items, toys, treats, and, importantly, positive emotions.

The BGV team believes every child has the right to a full and happy childhood with vivid memories of celebrations and real gifts, even in times of war. Through its activities, the fund is doing everything possible to ensure that Ukrainian children in need experience a sense of celebration and positive emotions and receive valuable and necessary gifts.

As a reminder, supporting Ukrainian children during the war is one of the key priorities of the BGV Charity Fund.
