Denmark extended the residence permits of Ukrainians until March 17, 2025.

The cases of refugees will be checked, and then the permits will become valid automatically, Rubryka reports, referring to the portal of the Danish Immigration Service for foreigners.

If refugees from Ukraine continue to meet the conditions of temporary protection, their permit will be automatically extended. The Danish department will send new cards with a residence permit by mail.

"You do not need to apply for an extension of your residence permit yourself. When the Danish Immigration Service has reviewed your case and your residence permit has been extended, you will be sent a new residence permit card by post," the government website said.

Also, Ukrainians do not need to provide biometric data (photo of the face and fingerprints) for the new card.

"We will contact you when we make a decision on your case. If we need additional information to extend your residence permit, we will contact you," the Immigration Service warns.

Rubryka recently reported that the extension of temporary protection was announced in Switzerland. Protective status S for Ukrainians is valid until the Federal Council cancels it.

The temporary protection mechanism for Ukrainians seeking refuge from a full-scale war on the territory of the European Union became operational on March 4, 2022.

At the end of September of this year, the Council of the European Union extended the temporary protection mechanism for refugees from Ukraine at the level of Ministers of the Interior for one more year, from March 4, 2024, to March 4, 2025.
