The Defense Forces of Ukraine are preparing for increased Russian attacks on critical infrastructure, military, and strategic facilities in the autumn and winter

Ukraine is expecting an increase in the attacks because Russia has accumulated a certain number of missiles, Runryka reports, citing Yurii Ignat, the spokesperson for the Air Force.

"We predict the increase in missiles. The Defense Intelligence reported that there were about 600 missiles two months ago. We see that the numbers have increased, and there have been no attacks by cruise and ballistic missiles for a long time, so the conclusions are very simple. Russia is stockpiling them," Ihnat said.

He noted that Western aid continued to flow in, and new types of weapons were arriving, which were not available in Ukraine before, like anti-aircraft missile systems and anti-aircraft guns with radar tracking of the target and can automatically destroy kamikaze drones.

According to the spokesman, the focus of the Air Defense Forces is currently on the energy sector, which will be under the enemy's sights and the port infrastructure in the south. Air defense systems are of great importance.

"The number of means is important because the territories are large, the radius of damage of air defense means is not large, that is why the number is important and, most importantly, the ammunition of weapons that can ensure the result," the spokesman added.

When asked whether the destruction of Russian cruise missile carriers, as it happened the other day in the occupied Crimean city of Kerch, would affect the number of attacks, Ihnat said that the enemy did not lack launch vehicles.

"I think they don't have severe carrier constraints. The fact that another ship that could have been another launch vehicle has been successfully hit is very good. Many such ships have been sent to the bottom, but they have enough launch vehicles. They have a bigger problem with missiles than with launch vehicles. They also have enough Tu-95 and Tu-160 aircraft. It is about the number of missiles they have and which they can launch," said the spokesman.

He said that during the last heating season, the Russian forces fired more than a thousand cruise missiles and a thousand kamikaze drones over Ukraine.

Background

As Rubryka reported, overnight, the Russian forces attacked the southern regions with various types of missiles and attack drones.

The Russians hit Odesa, likely with Oniks and Iskander-M rockets. There are impacts in the city center and on an industrial building. The blast wave damaged several high-rise residential buildings and a museum in the historic part of the city, which is included in the UNESCO heritage.

The Russians also directed the Kh-31P anti-radar missile at Kherson, damaging a five-story residential building.

Since the evening of November 5, the anti-aircraft defense has destroyed 15 Russian Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs and one Kh-59 guided air missile.
