The Air Force and Air Defense downed 24 Shahed-131/136 drones over the southern Odesa and Mykolaiv regions and the central Kirovohrad region, the airmen added.

According to the head of the Mykolayiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, air defense forces destroyed 10 Shahed-136/131 attack drones over the Mykolaiv region.

Five drones were downed over the Odesa region and nine over the Kirovohrad region, the South Operational Command confirmed.

In the Kirovohrad region, one Russian drone struck an infrastructure facility. The fire was quickly contained. Local authorities reported no casualties.

The Russian forces continue attacking the Ukrainian territories with drones and missiles, targeting critical energy infrastructure and civilian areas.

The latest attack happened on Tuesday, October 3, when the Russian occupiers attacked several Ukrainian regions with 31 kamikaze drones. Ukrainian air defense forces downed 29 Shahed UAVs and one missile.

The Air Force cited several reasons why the Russian Federation has recently begun using drones more actively for attacks on Ukraine.
