As of July 23, more than 12,000 of the 27,000 objects damaged by the war in the Kyiv region have already been restored, local authorities report.

What is the problem?

The Kyiv region is one of the most war-drained regions in Ukraine due to Russian hostilities. In total, more than 27 thousand objects were destroyed and damaged, over 24 thousand of them were residential buildings.

What is the solution?

According to Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the local military administration, 12,136 facilities have been fully and partially restored in the region. The majority  – almost 11,000 – are apartment complexes and houses.

How does it work?

With the help of United24 funds and the UNDP support program, 18 houses in the Kyiv region are to be restored.

Work has already begun on 12 sites. Multi-story buildings will be recovered in the four most affected communities.

Ukrainians have also launched a comprehensive restoration of private houses in Irpin. It involves the overhaul of 31 private houses to replace windows, doors, fences, and roofs. Another 30 houses will be rebuilt from scratch.

The reconstruction of 93 private houses destroyed by the Russian occupiers has begun. Residents of 15 communities in 5 districts of the region will receive new homes. By the way, Kyiv region is the first to implement such a project, authorities said.

Citizens never leave behind their fur friends. Ukrainians have finally restored the Best Friends animal shelter in the Kyiv region, which was previously bombed by Russian forces in 2022.
