The Turkish company Baykar has started building a factory to produce Bayraktar strike drones in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries, announced this on the air of the national telethon.

"The plant is being built in reality, not only in a memorandum. This is exactly the large Bayraktar plant that was agreed upon a few years ago, and then there were shutdowns and scandals. Today, this plant is being built. We have moved to real steps," he said.

On Saturday, July 8, the strategy minister, as part of the visit of the Ukrainian president to Türkiye, signed a new memorandum with the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye on the development of capacities and opportunities for the production of various types of UAVs.

According to Kamyshin, there will be other productions that the ministry cannot discuss now.

Background

In June, the Turkish company Baykar received license permits from the authorities to produce Bayraktar TB2 and Akıncı in Ukraine.

Previously, Baykar registered in Ukraine and purchased a plot of land for construction.
