Solutions to win: Army of Drones project transfers over 600 drones to front lines

As part of the "Army of Drones" project, more than 600 drones were handed over to the Ukrainian military at the front.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science, and Technology, Mykhailo Fedorov, reported that on Telegram.

What is the problem?

In the war with Russia, drones of various directions and qualifications play an important role. Ukrainians actively help to purchase them and collect funds for this since the defenders need thousands of drones to fight against the Russian aggressor effectively.

What is the solution?

As part of the "Drone Army" project, a batch of UAVs was handed over to the Ukrainian military at the front.

How does it work?

" The Army of Drones dispatched an additional six hunded+ drones to the front line for a counteroffensive. Included were Ukrainianmade drones named "Stork" and "Bat," as well as hundreds of Mavic and Matrice drones.

  • 423 Matrice copters will enable Ukrainian defenders to detect the Russians' most wellconcealed positions and quickly transmit information to the artillery. 150 Mavic copters will aid the military in identifying equipment, tracking the Russians, and positioning more accurate strikes on their positions.

  • 18 "Bat" attack drones will allow the Defense Forces to work effectively at night. Drones have a camera with a thermal imager and accelerate up to 120 km per hour, so it is practically impossible for the Russians to shoot them down.

  • 5 "Stork" reconnaissance complexes (in one complex – 3 UAVs) will help to fly inconspicuously into the deep rear of the enemy to learn information about every step," said Fedorov.

It should be noted that the United 24 fundraising platform collected 325 million dollars in one year. Within the Army of Drones project framework, 10,000 UAV operators have already been trained in Ukraine.

What does the Army of Drones mean?

At the beginning of July 2022, Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the UNITED24 platform began a fundraising campaign to create the "Army of Drones" for the Ukrainian military. The project prioritized purchasing 200 professional unmanned aerial systems for aerial reconnaissance.

Such drones can fly for up to 24 hours at a distance of up to 160 km and an altitude of up to 5 km. They have several thermal imaging cameras, position sensors, and software. They are difficult to notice and even more difficult to shoot down.

The digital ministry and the General Staff plan to use drones to cover the entire front line with a width of about 2,470 km. Drones will allow Ukrainian soldiers to monitor the actions of the Russian occupiers, change military strategies and save as many lives as possible. To help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and join the fundraiser, anyone can donate through the UNITED24 platform. Plus, you can send your own drone to the warehouses of our project partners, such as Help Ukraine in Poland or Razom for Ukraine in the US, and it will then be shipped off to Ukraine.

As reported, for more than 11 months of the existence of the Army of Drones project, UNITED24 purchased 3,864 UAV complexes. The amount of concluded contracts is more than UAH 4.3 billion. Training centers for UAV operators have taught 10,000 soldiers to operate drones.

Also, Ukrainians can send a package through any branch of Nova Poshta, which is also a project partner.
