Spain pledges to send four more Leopard 1 tanks, 20 armored vehicles and field hospital to Ukraine

Spain will provide Ukraine with an additional 20 tracked armored vehicles, four Leopard tanks, and a military hospital.

The Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez spoke about the advanced training of Ukrainian doctors in Zaragoza, Spain.

They are studying modern methods of treatment and the use of prostheses. More specialists will arrive in Spain over the next three weeks to undergo training. They will be able to provide better treatment and rehabilitation, the Prime Minister emphasized.

Sanchez said that Ukraine would receive a new aid package from Spain worth 55 million euros, as Madrid promises Kyiv long-term support.

In her speech at the meeting of the contact group, Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles informed about the status of supplies of material and technical means with which Spain supports Ukraine.

She emphasized the shipment of 20 armored tracked vehicles that will arrive in Poland on June 19, in addition to the 40 already delivered, as well as four Leopard 2A4 tanks that were undergoing repairs.

On July 1, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez arrived in Kyiv on an official visit.

Spain is about to head the presidency of the EU Council, so the purpose of Sanchez's visit is to reaffirm Spain's and the European Union's support for Ukraine.
