Ukraine's air defense downs 10 out of 13 drones in latest Russian attack on country's south

During the latest Russian night attack on Ukraine's south, the air defense forces destroyed 10 of 13 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on the Telegram messaging app.

"On the night of June 30, 2023, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine from the southeastern direction. They struck with 13 Shahed-136/131 Iranian-made kamikaze drones from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov (Prymorsk – Akhtarsk) and four anti-aircraft guided missiles from SAM S-300," the statement reads.

Russian forces attacked military and infrastructure facilities in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region.

Air defense at the Air Force and other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed ten out of 13 Shahed-136/131 attack drones. 

According to preliminary data, there are no victims. Local military administrations will report on the consequences, the Air Force said.

As reported, the spokesperson of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yurii Ihnat, suggests that Iran uses not only the air but also the sea to supply Russia with Shahed drones.
