Ukraine and France ministries of health sign declaration of cooperation

Ministers of Health of Ukraine and France Victor Liashko and Francois Braun signed a declaration on cooperation between the two departments.

Liashko announced this on Facebook.

The ministers outlined the priority areas of cooperation, including support for Ukraine's integration into the health care of the European Union, in particular Ukraine's participation in joint European events and programs that support public health and establishment of a regular dialogue regarding the prospect of Ukraine's accession to the EU.

Cooperation between hospitals by strengthening personnel potential in the medical field and exchanges between French and Ukrainian healthcare institutions has also been identified as one of the priority directions.

Investing in the training and qualifications of medical workers, implementing best practices in managing medical facilities, and increasing the capacity of Ukrainian hospitals are considered essential steps to improving the healthcare system in Ukraine.

The third priority area is support for the development of local, regional, and national health care strategies, as well as the provision of diagnostics and cares in the fields of prosthetics, reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation, mental health, medical imaging, prevention, screening and treatment of certain chronic diseases, in particular, cancer.

The signing of the declaration took place at the specialized prosthetics and rehabilitation clinic Superhumans Center, which opened a few days ago in the Lviv region.

Liashko thanked his colleague and the entire people of France for supporting Ukraine, particularly in the medical field.

"This is extremely valuable in this tough time for Ukrainians," he emphasized.
