russian capacity for ground assaults in Bakhmut dwindling – Ukrainian army

Ukraine's armed forces continue to defend Bakhmut, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy in the East. The coherence of actions and stability of our soldiers ensure the fulfillment of tasks, break the enemy's fighting spirit, and disrupt his plans.

The Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine's armed forces, Colonel-General, Oleksandr Syrskyi announced that on Telegram.

"In Bakhmut, in some areas, the enemy is noticeably nervous because time plays against them [invaders – ed.], and the occupiers have less human resources for storming our positions," Syrskyi said.

"I would like to note the coordinated actions of anti-aircraft gunners of the 28th and 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, operators of combat vehicles of the Strela-10 air defense system, which during this week in total destroyed 7 "Orlan-10" and 2 "Zala" UAVs. In the conditions of the constant influence of artillery of the enemy, our soldiers learned to interact with electronic warfare units, to detect small and inconspicuous enemy UAVs in the air quickly and hit them accurately," the commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine's armed forces noted.

He added that the Air Defense Forces of the Ground Forces also conducts active protection of Ukrainian artillery against the blows of enemy barrage ammunition of the "Lancet" type.

For reference:

From February 24, 2022, to March 31, 2023, Ukraine's armed forces eliminated about 173,360 russian aggressors. In the past 24 hours alone, Ukrainian defenders have reported the death of 460 aggressors.
