The head of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Andriy Kostin, met with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe,  Dunja Mijatović.

Kostin noted in a statement that one of the most flagrant crimes of the occupiers was the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to russia and belarus. According to him, Ukraine has confirmed the deportation of more than 16,000 children.  Three hundred seven of them were returned.

"In May 2022, putin signed a decree on a simplified procedure for obtaining russian citizenship for children from Donbas, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson," the Prosecutor General added.

In addition, Kostin noted that the russians also continue to violate human rights in the occupied Crimea. In particular, the indigenous people of the peninsula – the Crimean Tatars – suffer from the actions of the invaders.

For reference:

During the year of the full-scale russian invasion, Ukraine conducted 38 prisoner-of-war exchanges and returned 1,863 people. Among them, there were 1,756 military personnel and 107 civilians.
