Ukraine's law enforcement finds another russian torture chamber in Mykolaiv region

Ukrainian law enforcement officers discovered another torture chamber of the russian occupying forces in the Mykolaiv region. The invaders arranged it in the private house of one of the residents.

The investigation reports that representatives of the russian federation seized a house in the village. Residents who refused to cooperate with the enemy were illegally detained and brutally tortured there.

Ukraine's Security Service clarified that the torture chamber was found in the village of Oleksandrivka.

There, the russians tried to find out the addresses of Ukrainian patriots with force, particularly members of the resistance movement, from the people.

Security officials said the victims were suffocated with plastic bags, beaten with heavy objects, and used with electric shocks.

During the inspection of the torture chamber, law enforcement officers discovered "instruments" of torture. They also identified Ukrainian citizens illegally detained and tortured by the invaders for a month.

Based on these facts, the law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code. It provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for 8 to 12 years.

Torture chambers discovered in de-occupied territory of Ukraine

As of December 23, 54 places of brutal treatment of the population, torture chambers, were found in Ukraine's de-occupied territories after the russians' retreat.

Five thousand seventy-nine criminal offenses were entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations based on facts of torture, infliction of bodily harm, or other inhumane treatment as a result of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Currently, pre-trial investigations are being carried out in 855 criminal proceedings for war crimes against children related to the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, including ten cases of sexual violence. A total of 2,415 proceedings on crimes committed against children and in the field of childhood protection are being investigated by the prosecutor's office.

As of December 19, 54,607 crimes related to russian aggression were registered, among them 52,879 for violating the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code).

It was also reported that since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, law enforcement agencies had established 154 facts of sexual violence committed by russian military personnel against women, children, and men on the territory of Ukraine.

According to the results of the pre-trial investigation, six servicemen of the russian federation were notified of the suspicion.

Since de-occupation began, 2316 war crimes committed by russians have been recorded in the Kharkiv region.
