From February 24 to December 26, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights recorded 17,831 victims among the civilian population in Ukraine.

Rubryka reports, referring to the report of the UN Human Rights Office.

The document says that the UN confirmed:

  • The death of 6,884 people,
  • That 10,947 civilians were injured.

Among the 6,884 dead:

  • 2,719 men;
  • 1,832 women;
  • 175 girls;
  • 216 boys;
  • Thirty-eight children and 1,904 adults whose gender is currently unknown.

Among the 10,947 wounded:

  • 2,364 men;
  • 1,709 women;
  • 229 girls;
  • 318 boys;
  • 253 children.

It was also clarified that 6,074 adults whose gender is currently unknown had been recorded.

"Most of the civilian casualties recorded were caused by the use of explosive weapons with wide-area effects, including shelling from heavy artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems, missiles, and air strikes," the reports says.

The UN Office for Human Rights noted that the actual number of civilian casualties is much higher, as information from places where intense hostilities are ongoing is delayed.

In addition, many messages require confirmation. This applies, in particular, to Mariupol, Izium, Lysychansk, Popasna, and Sievierodonetsk.

We will remind you that russia's aggression caused one of the biggest humanitarian disasters in Mariupol. The city was almost 90% destroyed as a result of enemy shelling.

Mariupol currently lacks a regular supply of electricity, water, and gas. Now, more than 100,000 residents remain in the blocked city. As for the dead, according to the city council, more than 20,000 Mariupol residents died due to russian aggression.

As Rubryka reported, at least 10,300 graves were found in Mariupol, temporarily occupied by the russian invaders, in the Donetsk region, which appeared in the city after russia invaded Ukrainian land.

According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, it is currently impossible to establish the exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha.
