China and russia are conducting joint exercises in East China Sea

In the East China Sea, warships of China and russia practiced joint actions, thus confirming the growing defense cooperation between the two countries.

As the publication writes, these exercises continued a series of maneuvers involving the launch of missiles and artillery fire. russian and Chinese planes will also take part in them.

"The main goal of the weekly exercises is to strengthen naval cooperation between the russian federation and China, to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region," the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation noted.

At the same time, the russian Defense Ministry reported that the missile cruiser "Varyag," the destroyer "Marshal Shaposhnikov," and two corvettes of russia's Pacific Fleet were taking part in the exercises.

China involved two destroyers, a diesel submarine, and several other ships in the exercises.

According to the publication's experts, military ties between moscow and Beijing actually strengthened after russian president vladimir putin entered Ukraine on February 24.

"China, which has declared a "no limits" friendship with russia, has pointedly refused to criticize moscow's actions, blaming the U.S. and NATO for provoking the kremlin, and has blasted the punishing sanctions imposed on russia," AP News sums up.
