Zelensky met with defense ministers of Denmark and Estonia in Kyiv

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, met in Kyiv with the Ministers of Defense of Denmark, Morten Bedskou and Hanno Pevkur, of the Republic of Estonia.

The head of the Ukrainian state published the video from the meeting on Telegram.

Zelensky noted that Denmark and Estonia strongly support Ukraine at all stages of the fight against russia's aggression, in particular by supplying the necessary weapons for the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories. The President of Ukraine emphasized that strengthening the Ukrainian army depends not only on the stability and endurance of our country but also on the security of the whole of Europe.

"I thank the Minister of Defense of Denmark, Morten Bedskou, and the Minister of Defense of Estonia, Hanno Pevkur, for the meeting and consistent support for Ukraine!" he added.

The press service of the head of state noted that during the meeting, Zelensky separately thanked Estonia for allocating aid to Ukraine in the amount of 0.8% of the country's GDP. "You supported us very strongly. This is an example of a small country that is a big state. The Ukrainian people and I are extremely grateful for this," Zelensky said.

He also noted Denmark's significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities by providing the necessary assistance and creating a new effective format — the conference of allies in support of Ukraine in Copenhagen.

The head of state emphasized the importance of further assistance to the Ukrainian army from Estonia and Denmark. "Strengthening our army directly with weapons has become our highest priority. The stability and endurance of our state and security in Europe depend on this. It is extremely important that you strengthen Ukraine in the security and military dimensions, supplying us with the weapons we need so much right now to de-occupy our territories," he emphasized.

In this context, during the meeting, it was emphasized that Ukraine is currently fighting for its freedom and the future of the whole of Europe.

Separately, the President thanked the leadership of Denmark and Estonia for the hospitable reception and assistance to Ukrainians who were forced to leave Ukraine due to the war.
