russia's statements that the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine allegedly became the reason for the Kremlin's decision to "expand the geography" of the war of aggression into the interior of the country are nothing more than propaganda

In an interview with Deutsche Welle, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated this.

As Rubryka reported, russian foreign minister sergei lavrov said on Wednesday that Moscow's military goals in Ukraine "now go beyond Donbas."

Moscow is targeting the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

He added that russia's goals would expand if the West continued to supply Kyiv with long-range weapons, such as the highly mobile HIMARS artillery missile systems.

"russia is using every time a different argument. This time it is because of the military support, they are saying. But they have been attacking Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine before," Baerbock emphasized that it was new propaganda from the russian side.

The head of the German Foreign Ministry also stated that Germany would "support Ukraine not only with solidarity, not only by mentioning every day that this is a fundamental breach of international law by Russia, but also with military support, so they can self-defend their country, their territory."

Baerbock supported Germany's arms supply to Ukraine, and a recent study ranked Europe's largest economy sixth in terms of providing arms to Kyiv.

"This is not a race of who's in which place in a ranking," the German foreign minister said. "This is about common support from the whole international community from NATO member states to support Ukraine."

The minister also noted that Germany and the Netherlands would deliver howitzers, other ammunition, and anti-missile defense  "hopefully" systems by the end of the summer.

To recap, the United States, with its partners and allies, has pledged to transfer more than 20 HIMARS rocket launcher systems to Ukraine, 12 of which are already on Ukrainian territory.
