General Staff showed how Ukrainian military personnel undergo training in Britain

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Great Britain, General Patrick Sanders, said that he was impressed by the courage and fighting spirit of the Ukrainian soldiers undergoing training in the United Kingdom.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

"The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland continues to inform about the course of artillery training of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the United Kingdom under the leadership of instructors from the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Specialists and professionals from the United Kingdom and New Zealand (16 Royal New Zealand Artillery Regiment) share the best theoretical and practical experience with Ukrainian artillery crews personnel.

Up to 10,000 Ukrainians will be given training by the UK Armed Forces over the coming months. The program is part of the UK's enduring commitment to support Ukraine, which so far amounts to more than £2.3 billion in military aid including anti-tank weapons, armored vehicles, and artillery," the message reads.

The General Staff reminded that up to 10,000 Ukrainians will undergo training under the leadership of the Armed Forces of Great Britain in the coming months.

"The program is part of the UK's ongoing commitment to support Ukraine, which amounts to more than £2.3 billion in military aid, including anti-tank weapons, armored vehicles, and artillery," the military said.

The training is being delivered at sites across the UK by over 1,000 soldiers from the 11th Security Force Assistance Brigade, which specializes in delivering training to build the military capabilities of our allies and partners. 

Assault rifles have been procured for the Ukrainian soldiers and they are being issued with helmets, body armor, uniforms, and field kit to equip them for frontline operations.

"The UK-led program trained the Armed Forces of Ukraine allowing them to scale up their resistance as they continue to defend their nation's sovereignty.

The program is part of the UK's enduring commitment to support Ukraine in its fight against the kremlin's unprovoked invasion. There they are being given the skills needed to be effective and lethal on the frontline and defend their homeland," the General Staff added.

General Sanders, who recently visited Ukrainian servicemen training in field skills, handling weapons, operations in urban conditions, and shooting as part of military support to Ukraine, noted that he was impressed by the courage, morale, and fighting spirit of Ukrainian soldiers.

According to Sanders, "the dedication and hard work of the instructors, as well as the speed with which they conducted the training, is extremely impressive. We will continue our work to increase the ambition and pace of training to maximize support for Ukraine."
