President of France Emmanuel Macron has stated that France is ready to provide Ukraine with additional Caesar self-propelled howitzers.

Macron made a corresponding announcement at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi, and President of Romania Klaus Iohannis in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Noting that France will increase its military support for Ukraine, in particular, by providing Caesar self-propelled howitzers, Macron said: "We are ready to make decisions on additional Caesar systems in the coming weeks."

Macron noted that Ukraine's urgent needs – humanitarian, economic, military – had been discussed today with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and stressed that France had already provided great support and was ready to continue to respond to the requests.

According to the French TV channel BFMTV, Macron was talking about the supply of six additional Caesar howitzers.

"Apart from 12 Caesar howitzers already delivered, I made a decision to supply six more Caesar systems," BFMTV quotes Macron as saying after the meeting with Zelensky, Scholz, Draghi, Iohannis in Kyiv.

As reported, as part of military assistance, France supplies Caesar howitzers to Ukraine.
