Ukraine is at a new stage of the war with russia, the military has managed to stop the advance of the occupiers

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a speech at the summit of the Wall Street Journal.

"Now we see that we are not backing down. Today is a new stage. Somewhere, we are standing, some territories are blocked by the russian military and equipment.

There we are waiting for the appropriate equipment from our side so that we can push and move forward, and in some areas, we are moving forward. So there is no step back," the president stressed.

Zelenskyy also stressed that everything must be done first to stop the war, and then start diplomacy.

"Today it is better to make the first step. It happened, we did it by stopping Russia, and its progress. We did it.

The second stage is to make russia move away from our territory as much as possible. We are now in the second stage. The third stage is the restoration of maximum territorial integrity," the President added.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine will find compromises through dialogue, where this can be done.

"Ukraine will do it there, but show its position as an equal partner in any dialogue," he concluded.

Note.

russia launched a war with Ukraine on February 24.

May 4 is the 70th day of full-scale war.

From the first days of the war, the most difficult situation was noted in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Mariupol.

For more than a month, russia has been shelling Kyiv and the outskirts of the capital, completely destroying several settlements.

Then the invaders retreated from the territory of Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.

At the moment, the occupiers are trying to capture the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions that were under Ukrainian control before the war.

Part of the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions was also seized.

On April 18, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in his address that the russian occupiers had begun fighting for Donbas.

On April 22, russia announced that during the "second phase" of the war against Ukraine, it is planned to fully occupy Donbas and southern Ukraine, as well as provide a land corridor to Crimea.
