1187 bodies of civilians have already been found in Kyiv region

Law enforcement agencies have already identified 1,187 bodies of civilians in the Kyiv region who died at the hands of the russian army.

This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova.

"1,187 bodies of civilians who died at the hands of the russian army have already been identified by law enforcement agencies. 412 of them are the bodies of tortured and killed residents of Bucha. 26 bodies were found in the Kyiv region yesterday," the ombudswoman said.

Denisova noted that work on dismantling the debris and searching for the dead continues.

More than 200 people are still missing.

In Trostianets in the Sumy region, investigators documented about 20 cases of torture of the local population by the russian military.

"Sticks, handcuffs, metal ticks, and clothes of the victims with traces of blood were found in the places where people were tortured. russians and LDPR militants took people and shot at animals," Denisova said.
