Zelenskyy spoke by phone with President of Turkey, Defense Minister Reznikov met him in person in Istanbul

In a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised the issue of talks with Russia, and Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov personally spoke in Istanbul about the situation at the front and the evacuation of the population.

This was reported on Zelenskyy's Twitter page, in the Turkish state agency, Anadolu, Reznikov's Twitter page.

"Had another conversation with a real friend of Ukraine, President of Turkey Erdogan. Noted the high level of organization of negotiations of delegations in Istanbul.

Agreed on further steps towards peace. Thanked for the readiness of Turkey to become the guarantor of security of our state!" Zelenskyy said

Zelenskyy discussed with Erdogan the talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul on March 29.

Erdogan, in turn, reiterated his readiness to organize a personal meeting of Ukrainian and Russian presidents in Turkey.

In Istanbul, Reznikov told the Turkish president about the situation on the battlefields, the war crimes of the Russian occupiers, and the destruction of infrastructure as a result of Russian shelling. In addition, Reznikov separately discussed the possibility of joint evacuation with Turkish partners of civilians in Mariupol, especially the wounded.

He thanked Turkey for its help and efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
