Zelenskyy signs a law banning the spread of Russian propaganda

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law banning the production and distribution of information products aimed at promoting the actions of the Russian Federation

This was said on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, Rubryka reports.

On March 3, the Verkhovna Rada passed Draft law 5101 banning the production and distribution of information products aimed at promoting the actions of the aggressor state.

It was signed by the President on March 14. He amended other laws.

Thus, the law prohibits the press, television, and radio from justifying, recognizing legitimate, denying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine in 2014.

In particular, by presenting the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine as an "internal conflict," "civil conflict," "civil war," denying the temporary occupation of part of Ukraine.

At the same time, it is prohibited to glorify persons who have been carrying out Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine since 2014, representatives of both armed formations of the Russian Federation and armed gangs and mercenary groups, in particular by defining them as "insurgents," "militias," "polite military people."

The law also provides for the possibility of terminating the activities of parties, religious and public organizations in Ukraine aimed at eliminating Ukraine's independence, changing the constitutional order, violating its sovereignty or territorial integrity, promoting war, or justifying Russia's actions as an aggressor.

This law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication.
