The situation in Izium, the Kharkiv region, is not better than in Mariupol

This was stated by Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Matsokyn, Rubryka reports.

He noted that the city urgently needed humanitarian corridors.

"The city of Izium has been under siege for two weeks. Without water, without light, heat, food, medicine, communication. The situation is no better than Mariupol.

We receive information that those who survived the shelling are dying of diseases and lack of medicine.

There is no one to bury the dead. Medical care is not provided. It is not possible to bring in enough humanitarian aid. There is no way to take people out.

The enemy is insidiously shelling the road to Sloviansk, and the road from Kharkiv is controlled by the occupier.

Izium residents are on the verge. The bridges were torn down, the city was cut in half. No connection!" the statement reads.

According to Matsokyn, Izium urgently needs humanitarian corridors on both sides, Kharkiv and Sloviansk.

The city also needs green corridors on both sides to evacuate citizens.
