In February, Ukraine will launch military exercises for border guards using NATO standards and with the participation of trainers from Allied countries.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.

According to the statement, the Main Conference on Training Planning of Units within the Joint Multinational Training Group – Ukraine (JMTG-U) has ended in the Lviv region.

More than 30 delegates from the State Traffic Police and the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the United States took part in the conference. The topic of discussion was the training of the Border Guard Command of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Detachment and the Armed Forces Brigade. Following the conference, it was decided that the maneuvers would begin in the first decade of February and last until early April.

"This year the fighters will be trained by Ukrainian instructors with the help of observers-trainers from the NATO armed forces. The training will be carried out using a simulation system of combat operations such as JCATS," the SBGS said.

The purpose of the exercise is to provide the Ukrainian military with a better level of cooperation between the components of Ukraine's security sector and compatibility with military units of the North Atlantic Alliance.
