Zelenskyy on attack on aide’s car: “Response will be strong”

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vowed "strong response" to today's incident where his first aide Serhiy Shefir's car was shot at.

The head of state posted the relevant video address, Ukrinform reports.

"It's a weakness to send me a 'greeting' by opening fire on from the forest on my friend's car. But the response will be strong," Zelenskyy said.

Kyiv region's Police Department has reported an attack on the vehicle of Serhiy Shefir, First Aide to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The driver was wounded in the attack that unfolded near the village of Lisnyky outside Kyiv.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said over 10 bullets had hit the vehicle.

The CSI team is working at the crime scene, while law enforcers are calling for citizens to share any information available to clear up the circumstances of the attack.

A special police operation is underway to locate and detain the culprits.

Law enforcers have launched an inquiry into the incident.
