Czech Republic sends humanitarian aid to Ukraine: masks and Covid-19 tests

The Czech Republic has sent relief consignments of protective masks and COVID-19 tests to Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports.

"The shipping with 192 thousand masks and 129 thousand tests left (for Ukraine – ed.) in the afternoon of May 10," said a representative of the Main Directorate of Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, which provides transportation of goods.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic announced that on Wednesday, May 12, at 11:00 in Kyiv, an official ceremony of handing over humanitarian aid will take place at the Ukrmedpostach warehouse.

It should be noted that in December 2020, Czech rescuers had already delivered humanitarian aid to Ukraine of about 200 thousand euros.

Also in April 2020, the Czech government allocated approximately 900,000 euros for emergency humanitarian aid to Ukraine to fight coronavirus. The program includes the supply of medical equipment of Czech companies and humanitarian projects of non-governmental organizations to help medical institutions.

In addition, the Czech Republic supplied medical stocks worth almost 115,000 euros to eastern Ukraine in cooperation with the local volunteer organization E+ Initiative.
