"Today is a special day and a special holiday. It's a celebration of women's victory over inequality and injustice. Victory over the wild times when women's rights were restricted. Victory over the false stereotype that women are the 'weaker sex,'" the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi wrote on Facebook.

Full text of the greeting:

"Our dear mothers, sisters, daughters, wives! I sincerely congratulate all of you!

Today is a special day and a special holiday. It's a celebration of women's victory over inequality and injustice. Victory over wild times when women's rights were restricted. Victory over the false stereotype that women are the "weaker sex."

It's definitely not the case. Beautiful, smart, wise, talented, purposeful, but certainly not weak.

Today, our women and girls defend Ukraine at the front, resist COVID-19, fly planes and drive trains, serve in the police, teach children, make scientific discoveries, conquer mountain peaks. They are equally successful in parliament and the world's most famous stages, in government, and the world's largest sports arenas. Well, we hold the door for you, lend a hand or yield a seat, not because you are weak but because that way we get a little better.

Next to you. Thanks to you. For you.

It's wrong to say today that you're incredible and special. After all, you're like that not only today but all 365 days of the year. So let the morning flowers, coffee in bed, and a passionate kiss also be an integral attribute of all 365 days. And may your magical eyes be filled with happiness, love, and spring all these days.

Without you, we're just biological creatures. But we're people and personalities with you!

Dream, create, inspire and be inspired, achieve the goal, change the world and remain just as glorious.

Happy International Women's Day! Happy March 8th!"
