Free Sternenko: rally organizers supporting the activist announce an indefinite protest and call on everyone to come out on Saturday

Organizers of a demonstration to support activist Serhii Sternenko have announced a new protest rally near the Office of the President in Kyiv on Saturday, February 27.

It was reported on Sternenko's Telegram-channel.

"We are not going to stop and announce an indefinite protest, which will last until Serhii Sternenko is released. You are needed in Kyiv. Saturday, 12:00, the Office of the President," the statement reads.

The organizers also assured that they would stay at the President's Office "as long as necessary."

"Today, each of us was given 7 years… The authorities didn't fully understand that the times of lawlessness and arbitrariness were coming to an end," the activists added.

Besides, the organizers of the rally thanked the people who took part in thousands of demonstrations to support Sternenko throughout Ukraine and abroad.

The National Police said that 24 people were detained during the protest outside the President's Office; they were interrogated and released. According to the police, more than two thousand people took part in the demonstration, 27 police officers were injured. It is unknown how many victims were among the protesters. One person must have been ill, another man had his head injured.
