Hennadiy Kernes died

In Germany, the mayor of Kharkiv, Hennadiy Kernes, died of coronavirus.

His friend Pavlo Fuks reported this.

"Tonight, the huge good heart of my best friend Hennadiy Kernes stopped," he wrote.

According to Fuks, Kernes died because of serious complications in the work of vital organs and systems of his body.

As reported earlier, on September 16, at about 9:50 p.m., a plane with Kernes on board took off from Kharkiv to Berlin. Kernes was diagnosed with coronavirus and bilateral pneumonia. On September 10, he was hospitalized at the 17th Kharkiv City Hospital. On September 15, Yurii Sydorenko, director of the information and public relations department of the Kharkiv City Council, said that Kernes's condition was critical but stable.

Then it became known that the health of Hennadiy Kernes, staying at the German clinic "Charite" with complications arising from the coronavirus, improved significantly.

At the same time, Kernes was re-elected mayor of Kharkiv.

It came to the point that Kharkiv police began investigating Kernes' disappearance.

Later, a friend of Kernes, Pavlo Fuks, published a photo proof that the mayor of Kharkiv was alive.

On December 11, it became known that Kernes had kidney failure.
