We tell you everything you need to know about seasonal vaccination
Seasonal flu, or influenza, is an airborne respiratory virus that occurs in Ukraine during the cold season, from autumn to early spring. Over 1.4 million people fell ill with the flu in Ukraine in February and March 2020. The virus is highly contagious, especially among the elderly, young children, pregnant women, and people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Every year, about 60,000 people over the age of 65 die from the flu, as vaccination coverage remains low in many countries.
