On January 16, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp visited Kyiv and announced €27 million in aid to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported this.

The Dutch diplomat assured of continued unwavering support for Ukraine and announced the allocation of additional aid packages:

  • €7 million through UCAP under NATO coordination;
  • €20 million for the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

The Dutch Foreign Minister discussed with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha:

  • preparation of the 16th EU sanctions package,
  • promoting Ukraine to join the EU and NATO,
  • restoring the energy sector,
  • increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.

The ministers noted the creation last year in The Hague of a special registry to compensate for the losses caused to Ukrainians by Russian aggression. They coordinated steps to launch a compensation mechanism and fill it with confiscated Russian assets, the first of which should be the creation of an appropriate Compensation Commission.

For reference:

In early December last year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, announced the decision to allocate an additional 22 million euros to Ukraine for defense and cybersecurity needs.

Earlier, Rubryka reported that the Netherlands, in connection with forecasts that Ukraine will face a severe winter, provided three launchers for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.

Also in November, the Netherlands reported transferring the last two F-16 fighters to the training center at the Romanian Feteşti air base.
