United to win: minister Fedorov and historian Snyder team up to test demining robots at Ukrainian training ground
The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, and the ambassador of the UNITED24 platform, Timothy Snyder, visited the training ground, where they tested several models of demining robots.
The press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that.
What is the problem?
According to the ministry, Ukraine holds the unfortunate record of being the most heavily mined country in the world. Approximately 24% of the land is at risk because of landmines and dangerous explosives.
What is the solution?
The deployment of robots will play a crucial role in expediting the demining efforts and ultimately saving countless lives.
"We recently had a meeting with the renowned historian and UNITED24 ambassador, Timothy Snyder. Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, we visited the testing site to witness the impressive performance of the demining robots that Snyder and Mark Hamill are raising funds for," the message reads.
Specifically, three ground systems were evaluated:
- the "Zmiy" ground demining complex, which operates in difficult areas and uses a specialized trawl with hooks to clear the ground;
- the KNLR-E multifunctional tracked platform that has a completely armored body and can traverse any terrain;
- UGV SIRKO-S1 – capable of reaching top speeds of 14 km/h and effectively clearing land in extreme circumstances.

Timothy Snyder is a great friend of Ukraine. This isn't his first time hosting a fundraiser and garnering financial support from around the globe. Ukrainians are grateful to have Timothy's unwavering support on their side.
