174,000 square kilometers remain potentially mined in Ukraine, which can take decades to clear.

At the end of February 2024, Serhiy Reva, head of the SES's humanitarian demining department, said that demining specialists had reduced the area contaminated by explosive ordnance by 18,000 square kilometers.

Sappers have already cleared 47.3 hectares of agricultural land using mechanized demining machines in the Mykolaiv region.

Ukraine has also presented the third model of a domestic demining machine, which is not inferior to the best Western counterparts.
