Zelensky meets with Moldovan President to discuss Russia's destabilization of Transnistria

During the Ukraine-South-Eastern Europe Summit, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu.

The leaders discussed the recent events in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, Russia's attempts to destabilize the situation there, and effective tools to counteract its influence.

During the talks, the presidents paid special attention to the functioning of transport corridors for the export of Ukrainian products through the territory of Moldova.

The integration of Ukraine and Moldova into the EU is a common goal of the two countries and agreed to further mutual support and coordination of efforts on the path to EU membership.

Ukraine's President has already met with the Albanian PM Edi Rama and signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Albania.

On the eve of Zelensky's arrival, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that against the backdrop of European and Western "excuses" and "restrictions" on assistance to Ukraine, the Western Balkans are ready to contribute to the fight against Russia. After all, the EU member states need this region for their security.

On the sidelines of the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit in Tirana, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic.
