Lithuania has partially announced Ukraine's readiness to transfer drone production to its state. This step is seen as mutually beneficial cooperation and preparation of Western neighbors for possible military threats, says Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis.

The Lithuanian minister insists that it would be foolish and irresponsible not to learn the lessons of the Ukrainian war.

"We can talk about joint production (of drones – ed.). It seems that the Ukrainians are interested in possibly moving part of the production to Lithuania. With our help, and perhaps partially for themselves, if we could provide them with the necessary drones."

He says that a few years before the full-scale war, Ukraine had virtually no idea that it would need drones and vehicles that would become the everyday norm in a war.

"We need to learn (from Ukrainians – ed.) now. Especially since they are ready to open their books about the war to their friends. This is an extraordinary opportunity. The highest price was paid for the lessons we can learn."

During President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit, Lithuania approved a package of long-term military assistance to Ukraine worth €200 million. The state will send ammunition, generators, and detonation systems in January and M577 armored personnel carriers in February.

Both presidents signed a joint statement in Vilnius to continue working together to ensure timely, predictable, and long-term military and financial support for Ukraine, particularly through the EU's Ukraine Facility, the European Peace Fund, and the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine.

Ukraine and Lithuania have agreed to jointly produce drones and electronic warfare (EW) equipment. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Lithuania's financial assistance to our country has amounted to more than €1 billion.
