Ukraine's Security Service attacks Russia's airfield in Kursk with 16 drones

Ukraine's Security Service attacked the Kursk airfield, where dozens of enemy warplanes and air defenses are deployed, according to their sources.

The military counterintelligence team struck the base on the night of August 27, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Around 16 Ukrainian kamikaze drones targeted four Russian Su-30 and one MiG-29 aircraft. Other targets were S-300 missile radars and two Pantsir air defense systems.

Nearly all drones hit their targets, with only three of them being intercepted by Russia's weaponry.

Judging by the fact that even the Russians themselves recorded at least 13 explosions, the operation was impressive. We will know the exact consequences of the damage and the number of dead and wounded in no time, the press service reported.

Russia's Kursk was greeted with several explosions all over the city. Local residents also heard a gunfight reporting it on social media. Later, footage of the explosion was posted, too, showing a bright flash in the night sky.

According to preliminary information, at night in Kursk, a drone crashed into an apartment building on Karl Marx Street. Windows were smashed on some floors, local authorities reported.

According to the governor, the building of the engineering faculty of the local university was also allegedly damaged by the blast wave.

Previously, Ukraine's Security Service confirmed its role in striking Russia's Black Sea Fleet Brigade, as it was a joint operation with the Armed Forces.
