Talks on Ukraine's armed forces advancing in Kherson region "poses risks to our defenders" – head of OC South press center

Analysts' conversations and reflections on the topic of the advance of Ukrainian troops on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region are very harmful to Ukrainian defenders.

The head of the joint press center of the Operational Command "South" Nataliya Humeniuk stated this on the air of the "Yedyni Novyni" telethon.

"Creating information hype in the mass media regarding this issue significantly harms our defenders, who are currently under heavy fire from the enemy. Therefore, I will once again ask on behalf of the command to observe informational silence and wait for official reports. Today we are working in a counter-battery manner and protecting the lives of our people because we understand: going to the left bank means coming under fire from the enemy. Here it is important not to interfere with such informational messages," Humeniuk stressed.

As reported, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) informed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces probably carried out a limited raid across the Dnipro River and landed on the left bank in the Kherson region.

As noted in the ISW report, it is currently unclear whether the Ukrainian military managed to gain a foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

On August 8, several Russian pro-war bloggers stated that Ukrainian forces deployed up to 7 boats, each of which landed 6-7 people, on the left bank of the Dnipro River near the village of Kozachi Tabory, thus Ukraine's armed forces broke through the Russian defenses and advanced 800 meters deep.

However, Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, denied the rumors that the Ukrainian military had established a foothold on the left bank of the Kherson region.

For reference:

On the Tavia front, the troops of Ukraine's armed forces have already entered the first line of defense against the Russian invaders.

Ukrainian troops also advanced hundreds of meters on the Melitopol front.

In addition, as the Institute for the Study of War specifies, the strikes by Ukraine's armed forces on critical Russian ground communications facilities, in particular on bridges in occupied Crimea, are part of the Armed Forces' interception campaign aimed at creating conditions for future stages of a counter-offensive.
