Ukrainian border guards have confirmed the presence of certain groups of the Wagner military group in Belarus.

Law enforcement officers will closely monitor their movements in Belarus, says press officer Andrii Demchenko.

Given the latest Belarusian leadership rhetoric regarding the deployment of Russian mercenaries, it was impossible to exclude that sooner or later, they would appear in Belarus.

Currently, our data shows that separate groups from private military campaigns moving from the territory of Russia have begun to be deployed in Belarus.

In turn, we continue to track this situation to find all the spots they will be deployed, their amount and their future tasks," Demchenko said.

On July 15, in the morning, a large convoy of cars and trucks with license plates of the so-called "DPR/LPR" was spotted in Belarus.

The Russian media outlet Vörstka reported that camps were being built in Belarus to house Wagner militants after agreements with the so-called President Alexander Lukashenko.

Initially, Ukraine denied this information and emphasized that the intelligence service was closely monitoring the situation in Belarus.

On June 27, Lukashenko said that no camps for the Wagner PMC were being built in Belarus but that, if necessary, "they will help with accommodation."

We are not building any camps yet. But if they want to (as I understand it, they are looking for certain territories), we will accommodate them.  But for now they are in Luhansk in their camps… We have offered them one of the abandoned units. Please – the fence is there, everything is there. Put up your tents. We will help them as much as we can. They will decide what to do for now, the Belarusian dictator said.

On July 14, the Belarusian defense ministry reported that mercenaries of the Wagner PMC began training the territorial troops as instructors.
