As of June 26, 2023, the State Employment Service of Ukraine has already issued 30,636 referrals for socially beneficial works under the Restoration Army project.

The State Employment Service reported this on Telegram.

What is the problem?

Due to the full-scale war with Russia in Ukraine, thousands of buildings and critical infrastructure objects were destroyed and damaged, and roads and bridges were broken.

What is the solution?

"Restoration Army: more than 30,600 job referrals were issued to citizens starting from October 1, 2022. Ukrainians from 18 regions are involved in socially beneficial works. Two hundred million hryvnias have been financed for such works," the service reports.

How does it work?

In particular:

  • in the Poltava region, 5,449 citizens received job referrals,
  • in the Kharkiv region – 5,209,
  • in the Donetsk region – 3,599,
  • in the Kyiv region – 3,394,
  • in the Chernihiv region – 3,356.

Citizens actively engage in the following activities:

  • assisting victims of hostilities,
  • construction of protective structures,
  • weaving camouflage nets,
  • unloading and packaging of humanitarian aid,
  • overcoming the consequences of floods, etc.

As reported, the government introduced the Restoration Army project in the fall of 2022 to involve people who temporarily lost their jobs in the reconstruction of the country through their performance of socially beneficial works. The payment for such work cannot be lower than the minimum wage, i.e., UAH 6,700.
