South Korea to provide Ukraine with smart city development platform

The Minister of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea Won Hee-ryong went to Poland, where he plans to meet with Ukrainian officials and discuss the projects of post-war reconstruction of the country.

According to the message, the Ukrainian side expressed high expectations regarding the participation of South Korean companies in various restoration projects, including the construction of new nuclear reactors and infrastructure for hydrogen production and electricity generation.
What is the solution?
During his three-day stay in Poland, Won intends to meet with local and Ukrainian high-ranking officials and discuss South Korea's participation in the reconstruction projects of Ukraine after the end of the war with Russia.
How does it work?
He is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine that will provide for the transfer of South Korean know–how and platforms for the development of a "smart city," which will consist of urban transport and communications systems, utilizing Information Technology, as well as more advanced industrial solutions.
In February, South Korea announced plans to provide $130 million in aid to Ukraine in addition to last year's $100 million. And last week, Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho signed a preliminary agreement with Ukraine on the provision of loans at low-interest rates within the framework of the project of the Fund for Cooperation and Economic Development.
It should be noted that on May 21, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol promised Ukraine additional non-lethal aid during the first-ever meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in Hiroshima.
