Overnight Russian air strikes: Ukrainian forces down 15 missiles out of 18
On the night of May 1, Russian troops conducted another full-scale missile attack on Ukraine.
The enemy fired 18 cruise missiles (X-101/X-555). Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down 15.
Russians attacked Kyiv not only with missiles but also with Iranian-made Shahed drones. All targets were eliminated. No casualties among the civilian population and destruction of residential facilities or infrastructure were recorded.
During the attack, 7 missiles were shot down over the Dnipropetrovsk region. The strike hit the Pavlograd district, injuring 25 people, three of them children. 19 high-rise buildings and 25 private houses were damaged.
The Russian invaders attacked Ukraine from strategic aviation planes – nine Tu-95s from the Olenegorsk region (Murman region) and two Tu-160s from the Caspian Sea region, Ukraine's top commander Valerii Zaluzhny says.
